A Charity Shop Find, A New Prop & A Lovely Little Life Interaction
If you follow my personal socials, you’ll already know that I adore a charity shop. In fact, I very rarely venture into any other kind of shop!
There’s just something about wandering around a charity shop and never quite knowing what you might find. And, naturally, when I spotted a guitar, my photographer brain immediately started working.
I’ve had many a client bring musical instruments along to their photoshoots over the years, so when I saw this one, I knew exactly what I had to do…
Behold: a new prop! 🎸
I love adding little unexpected touches like this to my photography. Props can completely change the feel of an image and, for me, they’re another way of making a photoshoot feel personal, fun and a little bit different.
But the guitar wasn’t even the best part of the day.
While we were there, we got chatting to an older gentleman who was incredibly knowledgeable about guitars. We got talking about music and, as it turns out, he had recently recorded his very first single, which is now available on Spotify.
And honestly, these are the moments that really fill my cup.
I love the random little interactions you have with people throughout life. A completely ordinary trip to a charity shop turns into a conversation with a stranger, you learn something new, hear a lovely story and walk away thinking how brilliant people can be.
Anyway, I digress…
Back to the important business.
I have a guitar. 😂
And while I’m here, I also have to give a massive shoutout to my daughter, who has taken pretty much all of my photos this year.
She is genuinely amazing, and I’m incredibly lucky to have my own little photographer behind the camera whenever I need her. ❤️
So there we have it.
A charity shop trip, a new photography prop, a lovely conversation with a stranger, a new song to potentially listen to on Spotify and a very talented daughter behind the camera.
Not a bad day at all.
And I’m already wondering what other random treasures I might find for my next photoshoot… 🎸
