A Love That Lasts Forever: Bailey’s End-of-Life Photoshoot at Rodney Gardens

Some photo sessions stay with you long after you’ve put your camera away.

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Bailey, a beautiful black Labrador who, at 14 years old, has spent a lifetime being loved.

We met at Rodney Gardens, a place filled with quiet pathways, soft light, and plenty of space for Bailey to enjoy simply being himself. There was no pressure, no expectations, and no rush. Just time for his owner to be together and celebrate the incredible bond they have shared over the years.

As a photographer, I’ve captured weddings, families, newborns and life’s biggest milestones. But sessions like this remind me that some of the most important photographs are the ones that preserve the everyday love.

End-of-life pet photography isn’t really about saying goodbye.

It’s about saying thank you.

Bailey’s session was full of love, tenderness, and moments that deserve to be remembered forever. It was an honour to capture them.

Because while our dogs can never stay with us long enough, photographs help keep a little piece of them close, always.
