Bailey the Beautiful Fox Red – A Dog Portrait Session to Remember

If you know me, you’ll know that while I specialise in boudoir and wedding photography here in Perth, I honestly love photographing just about everything. But if there’s one type of session that always makes my day, it’s dog portraits.

They’re just £50, and if I’m being completely honest, if I could spend every day surrounded by dogs, I’d be living my dream!

Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Bailey, a gorgeous 12-year-old fox red girl with the sweetest face and the kindest eyes. The older dogs always have something special about them. They’ve lived a life full of adventures, loyalty, muddy paws, long walks, and countless cuddles. Every grey whisker tells a story.

Bailey was an absolute star from the moment she arrived. Calm, gentle and full of personality, she made my job incredibly easy. She had that wonderful balance of dignity and playfulness that so many older dogs have. One moment she’d be sitting beautifully for the camera, and the next she’d be giving me that look that said, “Right… where are the treats?”

One of the things I love most about dog photography is capturing who they really are. It’s never just about getting them to sit still and smile (although Bailey definitely gave me some gorgeous expressions!). It’s about preserving their personality, the little quirks that make them part of the family.

Dogs are with us for such a short chapter of our lives, but for them, we’re their whole world. That’s why photographs like these become so precious as the years go by. Whether they’re a bouncy puppy or a wise old soul like Bailey, every stage deserves to be celebrated.

Bailey reminded me exactly why I adore these sessions so much. She was elegant, affectionate and completely beautiful inside and out. I feel incredibly lucky to have been trusted to capture these memories for her family.

If you’ve been thinking about booking a portrait session for your own four-legged best friend, don’t wait for the “perfect time.” Every wagging tail, every frosty muzzle and every loving glance deserves to be remembered.

And who knows… I might just be as excited to meet your dog as they are to meet me.
