Sam & Mia’s Wedding: A Registry Office Ceremony and the Perfect Reception at La Cave à Vin ❤️

Some weddings just have it.

You know what I mean? The atmosphere, the couple, the little details, the smiles, the love. Everything just comes together in a way that makes you want to bottle up the whole day and keep it forever.

And Sam and Mia’s wedding? Oh, these two absolutely had it.

From their registry office ceremony to their reception at La Cave à Vin, everything about their special day felt so perfectly them.

And can we just take a moment to talk about Mia?

Because I am mildly obsessed with this bride. Her look. Her vibe. Her smile. EVERYTHING.

Sam, mate. Your wife is gorgeous. You are a very lucky man indeed! 😂❤️

Thankfully, these two lovely humans have kindly given me permission to share their wedding photographs. And thank goodness they did, because LOOK AT THEIR SPECIAL DAY!

A beautiful registry office wedding

There is something I absolutely love about a registry office wedding.

There’s no need for an enormous venue or an elaborate production to make a wedding meaningful. At the heart of it all are two people choosing each other, making a commitment and beginning their married life together.

Sam and Mia celebrated their love with a registry office ceremony, keeping the focus where it belongs: on the two of them and the life they’re building together.

Intimate weddings can be every bit as beautiful, emotional and memorable as the biggest celebrations.

Sometimes, the smaller details and quieter moments are the ones that stay with you longest. A smile across the room, a little look between the newlyweds, the excitement of finally being able to call each other husband and wife.

As a wedding photographer, I love capturing those moments as they happen naturally.

The photographs don’t need to be overly complicated. They just need to tell the truth about how the day felt.

And with Sam and Mia, there was so much to love.

La Cave à Vin: a reception venue that was PERFECT

Now, let’s talk about La Cave à Vin.

I’d never actually been to this wine bar before Sam and Mia’s wedding, so I didn’t really know what to expect.

But honestly?

PERFECT.

It’s always exciting to photograph a wedding somewhere new, especially when the venue turns out to be such a wonderful fit for the couple.

La Cave à Vin was the perfect setting for their reception, giving the celebrations a lovely, intimate feel. It was a beautiful reminder that you don’t need a huge traditional wedding venue to create something genuinely special.

A registry office ceremony followed by a reception at a wine bar is such a lovely way to celebrate getting married. It’s personal, relaxed and all about spending time with the people who matter most.

And I love that Sam and Mia chose a day that felt right for them.

That’s one of my favourite things about photographing weddings: no two couples celebrate in exactly the same way, and they shouldn’t have to.

Your wedding should reflect who you are, whether that’s a grand celebration, a quiet ceremony, a relaxed gathering in a favourite bar or something completely different.

There are no rules about what makes a wedding perfect.

Although, in Sam and Mia’s case, I think they did a pretty spectacular job. ❤️

Can we talk about this bride, though?!

Mia.

MIA!

I genuinely don’t know where to start.

Her look? Gorgeous.

Her vibe? Absolutely everything.

Her smile? Stop it.

I was completely smitten with this bride, and I’m not even going to pretend otherwise. 😂

There are some people who have a presence about them that just shines through in photographs. They don’t need to try too hard or put on an act. There’s something about the way they carry themselves, the way they smile and the way they interact with the people around them.

Mia had that something special.

I loved her whole look and the personality that came with it. She was an absolute dream to photograph, and I could happily keep sharing photographs from this wedding all day.

And Sam? Well, I hope you appreciate just how lucky you are, sir!

In all seriousness, though, what I loved most was seeing these two together. It’s one thing to photograph a beautiful bride, but capturing the connection between two people who are clearly celebrating something wonderful is what makes wedding photography so special.

The glances, the smiles, the little interactions that happen when they forget about the camera for a moment.

Those are the photographs that tell their story.

And Sam and Mia gave me so much to work with.

Why I love photographing intimate weddings

Not every couple dreams of a huge wedding with hundreds of guests, a massive venue and a packed schedule.

Some couples want something more intimate. A meaningful ceremony, a gorgeous place to celebrate afterwards and time to enjoy the day with their favourite people.

And I absolutely love that.

Intimate weddings and registry office weddings offer so many opportunities to capture genuine emotion without everything feeling rushed or overly staged.

There’s space for those lovely little moments that can get lost in a busy wedding day. Time to enjoy the atmosphere, take in the details and document the connection between the couple and their guests.

A smaller wedding doesn’t mean a smaller love story.

It simply means celebrating it in a way that feels right for you.

Whether you’re planning a registry office ceremony, a relaxed wedding reception at a wine bar or a full day of celebrations, I’d love to help you capture it all.

Because your wedding photographs should feel like your wedding, not somebody else’s idea of what a wedding ought to look like.

Thank you, Sam and Mia ❤️

One last thing before I let you get back to admiring these photographs.

Sam and Mia, thank you so much for allowing me to share your beautiful wedding day.

It’s always such a privilege to be trusted with capturing these moments, and even more special when a couple is happy for the photographs to be shared so other people can enjoy them, too.

I’m so glad I got to be part of your day, discover La Cave à Vin and capture all those gorgeous moments between you.

And Mia, I’m still mildly obsessed. Just so we’re clear. 😂❤️

Your look, your vibe, your smile — the whole thing.

Sam, you’re a very lucky husband indeed!

I hope married life brings you both years of happiness, laughter, adventures and plenty more reasons to smile at each other exactly the way you did on your wedding day.

Congratulations, you two. You were PERFECT.

With love,

Robyn x
