I recently received a Google review that made me stop and read it twice.

Not because it was long.

Not because it was five stars.

But because it described something that is at the absolute heart of what I want every woman who steps in front of my camera to experience.

She booked a shoot because she wanted help with her confidence.

And, like so many women who come to me for a boudoir photoshoot in Scotland, she was nervous.

She didn’t know what to expect.

She had worries.

She wasn’t sure how she would feel in front of the camera.

And then she met me.

Boudoir photography isn’t just about the photographs

Of course, I want you to bloody love your photographs.

That’s kind of the point.

But there’s something much bigger happening during a boudoir shoot.

For many women, getting in front of a camera in lingerie is WAY outside their comfort zone.

You might arrive wondering what on earth you’ve signed yourself up for.

You might be worrying about your tummy, your thighs, your boobs, your bum, your stretch marks, your age, your size, or approximately 847 other things you’ve convinced yourself are going to look terrible in photographs.

And then we start.

We chat.

We laugh.

I show you exactly what I’m doing.

I guide you through the poses.

And gradually, the nerves start to disappear.

Where to move your legs.

What to do with your face.

What looks amazing.

And, equally importantly, what doesn’t.

You don’t need to know how to pose before you arrive.

You don’t need modelling experience.

You don’t need to be confident.

And you certainly don’t need to look like the women you see on Instagram.

You just need to turn up. I’ll take care of the rest.

Because confidence doesn’t always arrive before the shoot.

Sometimes it arrives during the shoot.

There’s something pretty bloody special about seeing yourself through someone else’s eyes.

Not through the critical eyes you might normally use when looking in the mirror.

But seeing yourself as a woman who is beautiful, sexy, strong, confident and completely deserving of being photographed.
