One of the questions I’m asked most often as a Scottish boudoir photographer is, “Do people ever book more than one boudoir session?”

The answer is a resounding yes.

In fact, this beautiful session with Sarah was probably her tenth photoshoot with me, and I honestly couldn’t think of a better person to highlight why so many women return again and again for boudoir photography in Scotland.

This time, we headed to the charming World’s Smallest Lighthouse in North Queensferry, with the iconic Forth Rail Bridge standing proudly behind us. It was the perfect backdrop for another chapter in Sarah’s story.

Boudoir Photography Isn’t Just a One-Time Experience

Many people think a boudoir session is something you do once—perhaps as a wedding gift or to celebrate a milestone birthday.

But for so many of my clients, that’s only the beginning.

Over the years, I’ve photographed women celebrating new careers, marking milestone birthdays, embracing life after motherhood, honouring weight loss journeys, rebuilding confidence after difficult times, or simply because they loved the experience so much the first time that they wanted to do it all over again.

Each session reflects where they are in that moment of their lives.

That’s exactly what makes repeat sessions so special.

Sarah’s Journey

When Sarah first stepped in front of my camera, like many women, she arrived with nerves and plenty of questions.

Fast forward to today, and watching her confidence shine during our sessions is one of the greatest privileges of my job.

This session at Queensferry felt relaxed, effortless and full of laughter. We wandered around the harbour, taking advantage of the beautiful evening light, the historic World’s Smallest Lighthouse and the incredible Forth Rail Bridge towering above us.

Having photographed Sarah so many times means there’s already a level of trust between us. She knows she can relax, be herself and enjoy the experience, and that always shines through in the final photographs.

The Greatest Compliment a Small Business Can Receive

As a small business owner, there’s no bigger compliment than someone choosing to come back.

Every returning client reminds me why I love what I do.

It isn’t just about creating beautiful photographs. It’s about building relationships, watching confidence grow and becoming a small part of someone’s journey over the years.

Some clients return annually. Others book sessions to celebrate life’s milestones. Some simply want to experience that feeling of confidence again.

No two sessions are ever the same because no two chapters of life are the same.

Seeing familiar faces walk through my door—or meet me in incredible locations across Scotland—never gets old.

An Unforgettable Scottish Backdrop

For this session, we chose one of Scotland’s hidden gems: the World’s Smallest Working Lighthouse in North Queensferry.

Standing proudly beside the Firth of Forth with the striking red Forth Rail Bridge behind it, the location offered a stunning contrast between historic architecture, dramatic engineering and the soft, natural beauty that makes outdoor boudoir photography so unique.

It’s proof that Scotland offers far more than studio walls. Some of the most meaningful portraits are created outdoors, where every location helps tell part of your story.

Thinking About Your Own Boudoir Journey?

Whether it’s your very first boudoir experience or your tenth, every session deserves to celebrate who you are right now.

Confidence changes. Life changes. We change.

That’s why I never believe boudoir is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

If you’re looking for a Scottish boudoir photographer who creates relaxed, empowering sessions in beautiful locations across Scotland, I’d love to help you tell your story—whether we’re meeting for the first time or creating your next chapter together.

Because sometimes the most meaningful photographs aren’t the first ones we create—they’re the ones that show just how far you’ve come.
