Why My Couple Photoshoots Stay PG (And Why That’s a Good Thing)

One question that occasionally comes up before a couples photoshoot is whether I photograph intimate or explicit content.

The simple answer is no.

All couple photoshoots with Robyn Allan Photography remain firmly PG. That means genuine connection, real emotion, natural affection, laughter, cuddles, hand-holding, forehead kisses, hugs, and all the little moments that make your relationship unique — but nothing explicit.

From time to time, you may see images on my website or social media that appear a little more daring. It’s important to understand that these images are entirely implied. At no point am I photographing explicit acts or creating adult content. Through careful posing, angles, clothing choices and composition, an image can feel romantic, passionate or intimate whilst remaining tasteful and appropriate.

Why?

Because my focus has always been on capturing your connection rather than creating shock value. The strongest photographs are rarely the ones where people are doing the most. They’re the ones where people are being themselves.

Whether we’re wandering through the Scottish countryside, standing beside a loch at sunset, celebrating an anniversary, marking an engagement, or simply documenting this chapter of your lives together, my goal is to create images you will still be proud to display in your home years from now.

That doesn’t mean your photographs will feel stiff or awkward. Quite the opposite.

I will guide you through natural prompts and gentle direction that encourage genuine interaction. You’ll talk, laugh, cuddle, walk together, and enjoy spending time with one another. Most couples arrive telling me they’re awkward in front of a camera and leave saying it felt more like a date than a photoshoot.

For those wondering where boudoir photography fits into this, boudoir sessions are a completely separate service designed around individual empowerment, confidence and self-expression. Couple photoshoots and anniversary sessions are approached very differently and remain suitable for all locations, all seasons and all audiences.

At the end of the day, I want your images to celebrate your relationship in a way that feels authentic, comfortable and timeless.

Beautiful? Absolutely.

Romantic? Of course.

Implied? Sometimes.

Explicit? Never.

If you’re looking for a relaxed couples photoshoot in Scotland that focuses on genuine connection, beautiful scenery and natural moments, I’d love to hear from you.
