Six Years of Business Built on People, Passion and a Little Bit of Heart

Well, this is a little bit embarrassing… and a whole lot emotional. 🥹❤️

My Business turned SIX!

My first ever Instagram post went live on 21st October 2020. Six years ago, I started this little adventure, with no real idea of quite where it would take me, the people I would meet, or just how much my camera would become part of my life.

And yet, here we are.

Except, in true Robyn fashion, I completely forgot my own business birthday.

With my mum’s birthday falling on 20th October, (and her selfish death bringing its own emotions) the 21st came and went without me even realising that another year of this crazy little business had passed.

Life has a funny way of doing that, doesn’t it? Sometimes the dates you want to celebrate are tangled up with the ones you find difficult to navigate.

But now that I’ve remembered, I want to take a moment to celebrate something that genuinely means the world to me.

Six years of Robyn Allan Photography. Six years of people trusting me with their memories, their milestones, their stories and, sometimes, the most vulnerable parts of themselves.

From boudoir photography and women’s empowerment sessions to weddings, couples, families, maternity, fitness, branding and everything in between, my camera has taken me on one hell of a journey.

I’ve photographed women discovering a confidence they didn’t know they had. I’ve witnessed love stories unfold, celebrated new beginnings, captured belly laughs and happy tears, and met people who started as complete strangers but somehow left feeling like friends.

And the best part?

It’s the people.

Honestly, hand on heart, this year has been a year, and there have been moments when life has felt a little heavier than I’d have liked. But my clients? You’ve made it infinitely better.

Every booking, every conversation, every laugh during a session, every message afterwards telling me how much an experience meant to you — all of it has mattered more than you probably realise.

You haven’t just supported a small business. You’ve given me reasons to keep showing up, keep creating, keep picking up my camera and keep doing something I absolutely love.

And for that, I will always be grateful.

If you’ve ever stood in front of my camera, travelled to see me, invited me to photograph your wedding, trusted me with a boudoir session, brought your family or your four-legged best friend along, or simply followed along and cheered me on from the sidelines, thank you.

You are part of this story, too.

Six years ago, I shared one little photograph on Instagram. Today, I’m sitting here reflecting on thousands of moments, so many wonderful people and a business that has grown into something I could never have fully imagined back then.

And I’m still here. Still photographing. Still laughing. Still making memories. Still doing things my own way.

Here’s to the next chapter of Robyn Allan Photography — more beautiful people, more unforgettable sessions, more wedding days, more confidence-boosting boudoir photography across Scotland, and hopefully a little less forgetting my own business birthday! 😂🥂

Happy six years to my little business. And thank you to every single person who has helped make it what it is today.

You really have made this year infinitely better. ❤️
